The latest Archos smartphone with solid specs and a nice design is the Archos Diamond 2 Plus, that’s finally up for preorder in France. I have to say I’m pretty impressed by its design, featuring an edge to edge display and a nice looking rounded metal case.

Unveiled at MWC 2016, the product is priced at just 249 euros and it brings a 5.5 inch IPS screen with Full HD resolution and a 2.5D panel. We also get the famous MediaTek Helio P10 CPU inside, as well as 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. There’s a 20 megapixel Sony camera at the back, plus an 8 megapixel selfie shooter.

LTE Category 6 is also here, plus an USB Type C port. It all feels like too good to be true, especially the main camera, which may or may not be shared with the Huawei Honor 7. Anyway, we also get a 3000 mAh battery and obviously a fingerprint scanner. Archos also unveiled an interesting Diamond 2 Note with the Diamond 2 Plus, but we’re still waiting on that 6 incher.
