Only the day before we covered news about Archos making plans to launch its smartphones in Europe, for highly attractive prices. Initially there was talk of four new handsets, though today we find that only three will make their way onto the shelves of the designated stores.
Archos will be offering its latest smartphones for prices that are surely worth considering. These are based to cover all the market segments, including the budget, mid-end and high level in terms of specs and features. The first and the cheapest is the Archos 35 Carbon, offering a 3.5-inch, 320×480 display. It is powered by a 1 Ghz Qualcomm chip with 512 MB of RAM, runs Android ICS and offers a 1300mAh battery. It offers Dual-SIM features in a package that costs about £79.99.
In the mid-end department we find the Archos 50 Platinum, offering a large 5-inches display that is of the IPS kind and providing the 960x540p qHD resolution. Inside there is the Qualcomm 8225Q quad-core Cortex-A5 chip with 1 GB of RAM and a 2000mAh battery to cover the power needs. Other features include 4 GB of internal storage, 8 MP rear camera with a 2 megapixel front shooter, GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth. It’ll sell for £179.99. As for the Archos 53 Platinum, it comes with identical features except for the higher capacity 2800mAh battery and the larger 5.3-inch display of the same resolution, sold for the price of £199.99.
