A&T has recently launched Samsung a657, a rugged handset that can face even the toughest conditions and still be able to make a call or allow the user to check his e-mail. We’re dealing with a candybar device, that’s ideal for construction workers and it even packs a flashlight, for dark, gloomy days.

a657 supports GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA connectivity and it packs a 1000 mAh Lithium Ion battery, that provides 3 hours of talk time and up to 10.5 days of standby time. Its internal memory is 100 MB, but the phone also comes with a microSD slot, for cards of up to 16 GB.

There’s also a 176 x 220 pixels display on board, support for mobile email, multimedia messaging, instant messaging, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0 and AT&T Navigator (voice guided and turn by turn navigations, maps etc). Games plus support for most audio and video formats complete the specs list of his tough handset.
