Research in Motion might have advertised Torch as the best BlackBerry ever, but in the end it failed to challenge iPhone 4 to a duel. Now, we’re hearing that they’re making the Torch 2, that’s much better than its predecessor, as shown by the specifications list below.
BGR is the one with the scoop on this one and the most impressive aspect is certainly the 1.2GHz CPU, replacing the 600MHz one on the first Torch. Here’s what the future holds for us:
- Connectivity: quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE, tri-band HSPA 14.4Mbps, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS, NFC
- CPU: 1.2GHz
- Display: VGA, 640 x 480, capacitive display
- Memory: 8GB internal memory, 512MB RAM
- Camera: 5MP, flash
- Battery: 1300 mAh
- Other features: magnetometer, accelerometer, proximity sensor, OpenGL ES
We’ve also heard that the BlackBerry Torch 2 will run BlackBerry OS 6.1 and that it’ll be 14.6mm thin and very similar to the original Torch model, as far as design is concerned. Q3 release via AT&T is the last thing you need to know.
