January 30th is the date when BlackBerry 10 OS debuts and with it two new smartphones, the BlackBerry Z10 and X10. We have had a huge number of leaks related to these phones and we feel like we know them already. However, one more hands on clip is never bad, right? Especially when it’s used to compare the BlackBerry Z10 with the iPhone 5, like the folks of Telekom Presse did.
They also showed the world the voice control system on BB 10 OS a couple of days ago. Below you can watch the video comparison between the 4.2 inch BlackBerry Z10 and the 4 inch iPhone 5. The editors seem to focus more on the design traits than anything else. The Z10 reminds us of the original BlackBerry design line, although with a more modern approach. The Z10 is a tad bigger than the iPhone 5, but not by much, plus it weighs 12 grams more. On the user-friendly side, the RIM handset wins, since it has a removable 1800 mAh battery, plus it offers access to the microSD card slot and microSIM card slot easily.
There’s no point in comparing the hardware potential of both phones, since a battle of specs has no place here. The idea is that both models have enough hardware to run their OSes without flaws. The BlackBerry Z10 does just fine with a dual core CPU, with real time multitasking through those “tiles”, if I may call them that way. Sometimes it’s even faster than a quad core phone. On the screen resolution side we’ve got a 4.2 inch 1280 x 768 pixel panel doing the work, surpassing the iPhone 5 with a 4 inch 1136 x 640 pixel panel.
