The US folks over at BLU Products have unveiled a new handset today, the BLU R1 Plus, a device that comes with midrange specs and a $160 price tag. The handset looks pretty generic in design and uses a rounded metal case.

It’s available with 2 or 3 GB of RAM and relies on a MediaTek MT6737 CPU, 16 or 32 GB of storage and a microSD card slot. The handset features a 5.5 inch HD screen with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, as well as a front 8 MP camera for selfies. It brings a 13 MP main camera with LED flash, but the standout point is clearly the 4000 mAh battery, that clearly affects the waistline of the device.

BLU R1 Plus measures 10.5 mm in thickness, weighs 190 grams and comes with 4G LTE support, plus Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the OS. The 2 GB RAM model actually costs $140, while the 3 GB RAM one is priced at $160. I should also mention is a dual SIM machine and that it’s able to work on international carriers with ease. The product can be found on Amazon.
