Not only the Xperia Ion was announced in Vegas by Sony but also the Xperia S, the phone that was rumored for a while under the codename Nozomi. The device comes with a 4.3 inch 720p display and it can be seen in the photos below. It has an interesting design feature, a see through strip that also serves as the antenna with micro fine dots included.

Xperia S uses a 4.3 inch display with 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, a 1.5GHz dual core processor, 1GB of RAM a 12 megapixel Exmor R camera and the screen is a Reality Display unit, in case you are wondering. Sony Xperia S also has NFC, PlayStation certification and it’s supposed to debut this quarter, but it lacks LTE support, meaning that it will be focused on the European market. The phone will launch with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but get Ice Cream Sandwich as an upgrade soon after launch (Q2).

The handset will come in black and white and it will have a 1.3 megapixel camera at the front, a HDMI port and support for the Music Unlimited service and the Video Unlimited one. I can’t say I’m surprised by this device, since it fits every rumor and leak about the Nozomi I’ve heard over the past months…
