ASUS launched an interesting cameraphone at CES 2015, a few hours ago and this model was actually teased by the company, so it’s not exactly a big surprise. It’s part of the ZenFone series and it’s called ZenFone Zoom.
It comes With Android 5.0 Lollipop with a new flavour of Zen UI On top and it’s the thinnest 3X optical zoom smartphone in the world. It also brings an optical module with 10 element lens and all of that crammed inside a 11.95 mm thick body, which is quite OK. The handset offers up to 12x zoom through its camera and it also brings a 5.5 inch Full HD IPS screen, with Gorilla Glass 3 protection, as well as a 5 MP selfie camera, with wide angle lens.
The main camera is a 13 megapixel unit, with aperture ranging from F/2.7 to F/4.8 and also with optical image stabilization, laser autofocus and dual tone flash. The software offers a high degree of manual customization of capture settings, including ISO, shutter speed and more. ASUS ZenFone Zoom packs a 3000 mAh Li-Polymer battery, a digital compass and GPS. It weighs 185 grams and its starting price is $399, which is not bad at all.
