Some people spend a paycheck or two on a dual camera phone, but there are more affordable alternatives out there, believe me. One such alternative is the Cubot Rainbow 2, which at $77.49 is the most affordable dual cam handset I’ve ever seen. You can get it at TomTop.com.

It’s a 3G phone with a pretty nice and glossy design and it comes bundled with a transparent case, as well as a screen protector, that’s already applied. Inside its box we find the manual, charger, regular USB cable and no headphones, just in case you’re wondering. The back cover is removable, with a bit of effort and offers access to the dual SIM card slots and microSD.

The Cubot Rainbow 2 comes in black, white, gold, blue and red and measures 7.9 mm in thickness. It weighs 155.4 grams and packs a 5 inch IPS LCD 720p screen, plus a quad core MediaTek MT6570A CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz. It also brings 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a dual camera at the back. That’s the selling point and it includes a 13 MP and 2 MP sensor, while upfront we find a 5 MP shooter with LED flash, so selfies are also taken care of.

The battery is a 2350 mAh unit and a pleasant surprise was the fact that this model runs on Android Nougat. It also has HotKnot, USB OTG and GPS, plus a 2.5D glass panel upfront. We’ll review it soon and you can get it here in the meantime.
