Odds are that this is the very first DDR2 RAM phone we’re dealing with, unless we’ve missed a very hot smartphone out there. We’re talking about the Pantech Vega X, pictured below and coming to South Korea this week, via KT and LG Telecom.

This Android 2.2 handset has some reasonable specs and the DDR2 memory makes it 1.5 faster than DDR1 smartphones. Here’s the specs list:

  • Display: 4 inch WVGA touchscreen
  • Camera: 5MP autofocus
  • CPU: 1GHz Snapdragon MSM8255
  • Memory: 512MB RAM DDR2, 8GB internal memory, microSD card slot
  • Battery: 1500 mAh

Pantech VP Lee Eung-joon claims that this device will be so fast when running apps or 3D games that it’ll even compete with personal computers. We’ll see about that, especially if we get our hands on an unit like this at CES 2011.
