Dell’s coming in full force, ready to deliver some cool Android 2.2 devices, in cool form factors. The one we’re dealing with here is Dell Smoke, a handset that resembles Palm’s Pixi, but only better. “Smoke” is a mere codename for now and what we know about the device is that it runs Android Froyo on a 2.8 inch QVGA display.
In case you’re wondering, Froyo is the unofficial name for Android 2.2. Dell Smoke uses an unconventional design, packing a portrait QWERTY keyboard under a pretty decent display. This BlackBerry rival is supposed to reach the market in Q2 2011, featuring a Qualcomm next-gen MSM7230 processor at 800 MHz, a 5 megapixel autofocus camera and a microSD card slot (32GB).
14.4 Mbps HSPA is also on its feature list, plus WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and dual microphone noise cancelling. All of these come in a 12mm package, that seems very enjoyable.
