Just last week we heard about the rebranding of Fennec 2.0 to Firefox 4.0 in order to keep up with the desktop browser’s brand. Now the software has reached its beta version and it’s available on Android handsets. Firefox 4.0 for Android is based on the same platform as the desktop browser, but better optimized for mobile browsing.
This build is about increasing the performance and responsiveness of the browser and its change log includes Electrolysis and Layers. The first feature allows the software’s UI to run in a separate process from the web rendering content, making the browsing experience faster.
Meanwhile, Layers improves the graphics performance in departments like scrolling, zooming and animations. The beta is available for free from Firefox and you can use the QR below to download it.
