Gionee is a company from China that has made a few very interesting handsets, with high end specs. Their portofolio now includes a new model, the Elife E7 phablet, that packs an incredibly good front camera.
This device integrates a Full HD 5.5 inch display with Gorilla Glass 3 upfront and also at the front an 8 megapixel camera, that Gionee claims is better than the one of the iPhone 5S. We’ve also got a small 2.33 mm screen bezel here, making the device elegant. At the back there’s a 16 megapixel camera with custom made parts from lens maker Largen and an autofocus motor from Shicoh.
Gionee offers tweaks for the stock camera app here, that can be used in a basic or professional mode, with fine tuning and a ton of options, like 20 scene selections, filters, beautification and more. The handset will be available in versions with 2 or 3 GB of RAM, or 16 or 32 GB of storage. Inside the Elife E7 we find a Snapdragon 800 CPU, running at 2.2 GHz on the 3G model and 2.5 GHz on the LTE unit.
There’s also a 2500 mAh battery on board, NFC, WiFi and GPS and surprisingly the price is not bad at all: $443.
