Both the Gionee Elife E8 and the Marathon M5 were topics of leaks over the past weeks and the former became theoretically official, as Gionee’s partner Allview debuted its version of the E8 earlier. Well, today in Beijing Gionee used an official event to launch its new models.
The Elife E8 is the current flagship from Gionee and it brings a 24 megapixel back camera, able to do 120 megapixel shots, by using interpolation technology. It’s powered by a MediaTek MT6795 processor, aka the Helio X10 octa core 64 bit unit, accompanied by 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. There’s a microSD card slot in the mix, as well as a 6 inch Quad HD screen and an 8 megapixel front camera.
We’ve got a 3520 mAh battery here, too while Android 5.1 Lollipop takes care of the software area. This model also brings a fingerprint scanner at the back below the camera. The device is supposed to have an incredibly fast focus speed, between 0.08 and 0.20 seconds, that’s an incredible performance. This product will cost $645 and moving on to the other newcomer, the Marathon M5 is all about its two 3010 mAh batteries.
It uses dual charging chips, that will charge both batteries at the same time and offers fast charge support. In spite of the serious power pack included here, the smartphone measures just 8.5 mm in thickness. Its specs are of the midrange kind, with a 720p 5.5 inch AMOLED screen, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a 13 MP back camera and a front 5 MP shooter.
We’ve got dual SIM slots included, a microSD card slot and the handset costs just $370. It debuts on June 25th and the Elife E8 comes on July 15th.
