Back in June we got wind of a Gionee phone with a 5000 mAh battery, the so called Marathon M4, but we weren’t 100% sure of the specs or price. Well, today the Gionee Marathon M4 has been officially launched in India, priced at $243.
It stands out clearly through its 5000 mAh battery, possibly the largest battery on a smartphone priced below $300. This handset comes with 4G LTE connectivity and it’s a dual SIM affair, with Android 5.0 Lollipop also on board. The OS is customized with the Amigo 3.0 UI, so it’s not stock. Specs include a 5 inch 720p display with a Super AMOLED panel, as well as 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and an 8 megapixel back camera with LED flash.
There’s a front 5 MP shooter here and the 5000 mAh battery on board is supposed to deliver 400 hours of functioning time in standby, or 18 hours of 3G talk time. Gionee Marathon M4 comes with WiFi, microUSB, Bluetooth and it’s available in black or white. It measures 10.18 mm in thickness and runs on a quad core 1.3 GHz CPU, together with 2 GB of RAM.
