There are such things as “battery phones” out there, with the sole selling point of having a big capacity battery. Gionee debuted the M3 Marathon last fall and now the M4 Marathon is here, with a 5000 mAh power source.
The M3 had a rectangular chassis, a 720p screen, quad core MediaTek CPU and a 5000 mAh battery. Well, the M4 doesn’t change very much from the original, still offering a 5 inch 720p screen, 1.5 GB of RAM this time around and an 8 megapixel back camera, as well as a front 5 MP shooter. The 5000 mAh battery is still here, offering up to 65 hours of talk time.
Rumors already talk about the Gionee M5 and a supposed 6000 mAh battery, but back to the M4, it also brings 4G LTE connectivity and a metal design, as the poster above mentions. The design is blocky, angular and involves rounded edges. Expect a price between $200 and $300.
