Gionee debuted today a new version of the Marathon M5 handset, that we already reviewed right here. The new model brings more RAM and it’s priced below $300, so it remains pretty affordable.
The product is available in India today exclusively on Flipkart in black, gold and white color versions. Inside we find two 3010 mAh batteries, for a total capacity of 6020 mAh. The company behind the product promises up to 4 days of functioning time. There’s also an Extreme Mode, that boosts standby time by 5%, making it reach up to 62 hours.
This model, just like the regular M5 supports reverse charging, acting like a power bank for other tablets and handsets. There’s also a fast charging system in the mix, but that hasn’t been exactly detailed just yet. We did juice up an iPhone 5 in 1 hour and 40 minutes with the initial version of the M5, in case you’re wondering. Gionee Marathon M5 packs 32 GB of storage here, unlike the 16 GB global model we tested and it also brings 3 GB of RAM, not 2 GB like the global model.
Other specs include a 13 MP back shooter, a 5 MP selfie camera and a microSD card slot.
