Gionee just debuted the S6 Pro 5.5 inch smartphone in India, priced at $360. This model is pretty well specced and comes with both Android Marshmallow and 4 GB of RAM. The newcomer is nice looking, thanks to a 2.5D glass surface upfront.
We’ve got an octa core MediaTek Helio P10 inside and Android is customized with Amigo OS 3.2 on top. There’s a 13 megapixel back camera here with LED flash and PDAF, as well as an 8 megapixel selfie shooter. The phone comes with a preloaded VR solution and Gionee also sells VR headsets in the country, as well as games and videos for it.
Gionee S6 Pro packs a fingerprint scanner, embedded within the Home button, that can unlock the device in just 0.1 seconds. 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM are here, plus 64 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a hybrid dual SIM setup. It’s all packed within a 7.6 mm thick chassis, that weighs a pretty hefty 170 grams. On the connectivity front there’s USB Type C, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and 4G VoLTE.
Available in gold and rose gold, this model costs $360 and the VR headset is $37.
