This announcement is part of the plan “Make in India”, plan that includes the investment of up to $50 million in India over the next three years. As we get to know, Foxconn and Dixon will start manufacturing Gionee smartphone in India starting next month. The development process will take place in the facilities placed in Sri City and Noida.

Apparently, Dixon will produce some of Gionee’s feature phones, while Foxconn is responsible for the F Series and P Series smartphones development. Both these companies have a capacity of up to 1.2 million smartphones every month. It’s not a big announcement this one, as India is at the moment, one of the biggest market for mobile devices.
