Planning on spending your vacation in a foreign country, like England or visiting each city in morocco, for this is important to have the right maps, so you can know where to travel. Than the roaming data traffic will probably kill your contract, especially when using Google Maps. Right now, thanks to Google Maps 5.7, you’re spared of some download, by using GPS stop by stop public transit directions and downloading maps before you use them.
The feature is in beta right now and you can even download complete map info before reaching a certain area and then go on vacation using that data. This feature is only on Google Labs right now, but results are impressive. You can download a 10 mile radius at a point of your choice and use the data for your trip.
Multiple downloads are also supported and public transit details will be shown, so you’ll know when to switch busses or subway or when to get down. More details can be found in the video below and a download link for Google Maps 5.7 for Android is found here.
