Even if Oppo R5 will be soon replaced by another ultra-slim device, more precisely the Vivo X5Max L (4.75 mm), this one will still be present in the world’s slimmest phone top with its thickness of only 4.85 mm. If we’re expecting that such a slim device to bring low-end specs, we thought wrong.
As you already know, Oppo R5 brings a 5.2-inch Full HD AMOLED display, a quad-core Snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, 2 GB of RAM, an Adreno 405 GPU, a 13-megapixel Sony IMX214 rear camera that can record in 4K and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera perfect for selfies.
If from the processing power point of view, the things looks perfect, its 2.000 mAh only battery can make us change our mind about the phone, but not before to find that this device brings in the package a VOOC charger that cand charge the battery really quickly then when we don’t have much time to waste.
Also, another problem that we could have on a device as slim like this is the excesive heating. Taking this in consideration, Oppo come out with a solution that brings a liquid metal alloy between the chip and the case, and so the heat is dissipated.
The last, but now least component that was introduced by Oppo on this device was the case, being choosed a stainless stell alloy in order to make the phone resistant to bending issues, as the ones we are seeing on the iPhone 6 Plus phablet that uses aluminium as default material.
