At MWC 2023, Honor announced its latest flagship smartphones, including the Honor Magic5, Honor Magic5 Pro, and Honor Magic Vs, the latter being a foldable phone that rivals the Fold4. In this video hands-on, my colleague Alex takes a closer look at the Honor Magic5 Pro, which boasts an impressive array of features. From the front, the phone looks similar to its predecessor, with a curved screen and a pill-shaped cutout in the upper left corner. However, the back panel has a more prominent camera module, with a matte finish in some color variants.

Under the hood, the Honor Magic5 Pro is a true flagship device for 2023. It features a Snapdragon 8 Gen2 processor, up to 16GB of RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage. It also has three 50MP cameras on the back, including a custom wide sensor with OIS, which the predecessor lacked. There’s also a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a periscope telephoto camera with 3.5x optical zoom and OIS.

Other features include stereo speakers, an infrared emitter, NFC, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, and a 5100mAh battery that charges at 66W via cable (compared to 100W for the predecessor). The Honor Magic5 Pro is expected to be available for purchase in Q2 at around €1200.
