In case you’ve been holding back from jailbreaking the 3.1 firmware on your iPhone and iPod Touch via the new version of PwnageTool (Mac only for now), there’s a nifty guide you can check out below:

You can download Pwnagetool from here, firmwares from here and you should also check out the Dev Team info before proceeding, in order to avoid damaging your handset. As you might already know, the iPhone 3GS is now supported in PwnageTool 3.1.3, with the condition that the phone was already pwned in version 3.0 or 3.0.1.

Remember that if you’re using an iPhone 3G or 3GS with ultrasn0w and rely on the later for cellular service, you should do the update via an .ipsw made with the new PwnageTool.
