HTC Butterfly has just been unveiled officially in the international version, a spinoff of the original J Butterfly and Droid DNA models. Two months ago the J Butterfly debuted in Japan, setting off the race for the quickest launch of a 5 inch 1080p handset. Then came the Droid DNA in USA… and now this!

HTC Butterfly is the international GSM version of the J Butterfly, with the exact same specs, including the disappointing battery. This model comes with a 5 inch 1920 x 1080 resolution screen, a Super LCD 3 with Gorilla Glass 2 and a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core 1.5 GHz processor. There’s also an Adreno 320 GPU on the specs list, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p video capture, as well as a 2.1 megapixel front camera.

WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, AGPS, Glonass and NFC are also on board, plus that 2020 mAh battery and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This might as well be the next HTC flagship and the only thing that can harm it are delays, that are likely to happen, knowing HTC like I do. Fingers crossed for this model to reach stores this month.
