Last year we tested the HTC Desire 816 at some point during the spring and we were totally impressed by it. For a pretty low price, that phablet offered a very good display, camera and battery. Then, last fall, the successor came and HTC Desire 820 was unveiled. Today we unbox it for you.
This model is priced at $390 on Amazon and it’s a 5.5 inch phablet with a flat rectangular box. Inside we find the manuals, headphones, USB cable and charger. This model has a side lid that covers up the microSD and nano SIM card slots. Its case is made of glossy polycarbonate, that feels a bit slippery. HTC Desire 820 measures 7.7 mm in thickness, weighs 155 grams and it packs a 5.5 inch Super LCD 2 720p screen, with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.
It has an octa core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, as well as an Adreno 405 GPU, 16 GB of storage and 2 GB of RAM. There’s a microSD card slot on board, as well as a 13 MP back camera and a front 8 MP shooter for selfies. Both cameras should be promising, if they’re anything like the predecessor’s. Anyway, we also get stereo speakers here and a 2600 mAh battery, plus Android 4.4.2 with HTC Sense 6.0.
We’ll be back with a full review soon.
