HTC recently announced that it’s going to upgrade the Desire HD handset to Android 2.3 Gingerbread in Q1 of next year. The first units to get the update will be the ones in Korea, via local carrier KT. At this moment Samsung Nexus S is the only phone running Gingerbread.

We remind you that Samsung Galaxy S is also on the list of devices to get the update, while HTC Wildfire and Nokia N900 were recently spotted running Android 2.3 ports. The new features in this OS are improved UI efficiency, and better app and power management.
