We’ve seen such things as parties on Google+ Hangouts, but now this means of communication is involved in promoting a product: the brand new HTC Droid DNA, that will be unveiled in New York this week. Verizon already scheduled an exclusive unboxing hangout on Google+ on November 19th.
Verizon invited its followers on Google+ to this hangout and with so much promotion around it, I guess that this device will be a Verizon exclusive in the end. HTC Droid DNA, previously known as dlx is supposed to be a relative of the HTC J Butterfly from Japan, a Full HD smartphone with a 5 inch Super LCD 3 screen and a quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU. 2GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage should be on board, plus a nifty black and red case, that has been leaked a lot in recent pictures.
The device will have two cameras: an 8 megapixel shooter at the back and a front 2 megapixel cam, plus NFC, LTE and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. We hope that the battery of the Japanese version was enhanced, since it was merely a 2020 mAh unit. Or maybe the power management is better, since the iPhone 5, for example has a 1400 mAh battery and it does just fine with it…
