HTC Droid Incredible and LG Optimus 2X are among the newest devices to be confirmed for this summer’s Gingerbread update wave. The confirmation comes officially from both HTC and LG, mentioning both Verizon’s Droid Incredible and the LG Optimus 2X. More specific than that, we know that the LG handset will get the update in June-July 2011.

This time frame was confirmed by the phone maker’s Danish support site. Too bad that it takes half a year to roll out such updates and by the time we get it, we bet that Android 2.4 Ice Cream will already be out, complete with appealing new features. Of course, there’s always the option of using a custom ROM that already includes Gingerbread… with the usual risks.
