HTC Edge has been in the news quite a bunch of times over the past months, either with a leaked render or minor details about its features. Now it appears we’re getting closer to its debut date, or at least a first showcasing of the quad core handset. HTC is expected to demo this phone at MWC, so it will skip CES 2012, in case you’re wondering.

The Edge is expected to hit the market sometime this spring and in case you’re wondering, the theory about missing CES and hitting MWC comes from analysts at JPMorgan Chase. HTC will be part of CES, don’t worry and they might even show the world their rumored quad core tablet and maybe that other quad core handset, the Zeta. As far as the HTC Edge is concerned, we’re expecting here a 4.7 inch device, that sports a S-LCD 2 display with 720p resolution and an 8 megapixel camera at the back.

A 720p front camera is also expected, as well as at least 1GB of RAM, 16GB of internal memory, LTE and NFC. Let me remind you that MWC 2012 starts on February 27th in Barcelona and we’ll be there to report live to you and give you the best hands on experiences available. I just can’t help but wonder if this model will use a Tegra 3 CPU or go with TI OMAP…
