After the One Series, HTC is ready to strike again, this time in the low end smartphone segment. Thus, the HTC Golf model appeared, this time in the press shot you can see below. We’re dealing with an entry level model with Android Ice Cream Sandwich on board.
Recently we discovered the existence of this device through a leaked test photo from its pretty average 5 megapixel camera. The handset is supposed to hit the market before the end of the current quarter and it will be dubbed Wildfire C, continuing the legacy of tiny smartphones with lower end functions. The handset may is placed below the One series in the HTC 2012 roadmap when it comes to specs, but the design does borrow some One elements. Speculations say we’re to expect a single core sub 1 GHz processor, 4GB of storage and 512MB RAM.
HTC Sense 4.0 should show up on the 3.5 inch display with 480 x 320 pixel resolution. The internal storage will be complemented by the two years of Dropbox cloud storage (25GB), just like on the HTC One X, S and models. Surprisingly we also have a microSD card slot available and the specs list ends with Bluetooth 3.0 and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n. A front facing camera is also stuffed somewhere in there.
