HTC just announced today out of nowhere the One M8S handset, without any prior leaks and indication that this product was coming. It seems like a version derived from the HTC One M8, but with a different camera and CPU.
The product is clearly based on the M8 and it brings a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64 bit processor, clocked at 1.7 GHz, as well as a 13 megapixel Duo camera at the back. The BoomSound speakers are still here and so is the aluminum unibody design. We’ve got a Full HD 5 inch screen upfront, 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage, as well as a microSD card slot that can host up to 128 GB extra storage.
The battery available here is even bigger than the one of the HTC One M8, which was a 2600 mAh unit. Instead, we get a 2840 mAh unit that’s the same capacity of the HTC One M9, by the way. Finally, we’ve got a 5 MP front camera here and the product is meant to debut in Europe with a $564 price tag.
