HTC J Butterfly rocked the market last year, when it was announced as the very first phone with a Full HD 5 inch display. It came to USA under the name Droid DNA and it had pretty much the same features as the J Butterfly. Now word has it that a successor is brewing up.

Focus Taiwan is quoting HTC’s CMO Ben Ho, who said that the company will be launching a J Butterfly successor, because of the high consumer demand for the original model and for that market segment alltogether. The handset will also have the Butterfly branding, but the specs, launch time frame and price haven’t been mentioned. An updated Droid DNA is also in the cards by the way…

Things to expect here? Most likely an upgraded camera and battery, two of the aspects most criticized about the J Butterfly and probably that new HTC Sense 5.0 interface, the Snapdragon 600 or 800 CPU inside, as well as 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. Fancy such a model?
