In case you didn’t know, HTC has by now become the 5th handset maker in the world, following Apple, placed on the fourth spot. The more impressive thing is that the Taiwanese company announced an 87.8% increase in sales for the month of June.
That’s in fact a drop from May’s figures, that were 116% and mostly thanks to the huge popularity of Android, among others. This OS owned a 36% share of the mobile operating system in May, according to Garter figures. Reuters claims that HTC is expected to ship around 50 million smartphones in this financial year, an impressive feat for any company out there.
Recently HTC met with some stock value problems, as the stocks have dropped 19% since June 7… This happened because of the market rumors saying that the June sales might be down, but once the results came in, stocks started climbing again.
