HTC recently submitted an official response to the Apple patent lawsuit filed against it. The Taiwanese company defends its innovations and even lists them, quoting their recognition and mentioning that Apple is wrong for filing suit for patent violation.

HTC was founded back in 1997 and launched the O2 XDA as the very first 3.5 inch color touchsreen smartphone, back in 2002. The company claims officially that it “disagrees with Apple’s actions and will fully defend itself”. Peter Chou, HTC Corporation CEO was the one taking a stand in this situation also mentioning the achievements of the brand.

The company is also famous for its first Windows PDA (1998), for the first Windows Phone (June 2002), the first 3G CDMA EVDO smartphone (October 2005) and the first Google Android smartphone (October 2008). HTC Sense is also something to be proud of, as well as the first 4G WiMAX smartphone, launched in November 2008.

With all these accomplishments and many awards, why would HTC borrow technology from Apple without asking permission?
