Here’s a duel that many of you were waiting for, specially since both devices have already been checked out separately and praised or criticised. These smartphones are quite hot at the moment and if you’re wiling to find out who won the battle, check out the video below:

First, we learn that in the CPU segment, Touch Pro2 rules, since it incorporates a Qualcomm MSM7200A 528 MHz processor, much better than the N97’s ARM11 (434 MHz). The HTC device also packs a better screen, a 3.6 inch TFT display, with a 480 x 800 pixel resolution. Meanwhile, Nokia’s phone uses a 3.5 inch TFT display with a mere 360 x 460 pixel resolution.

The N97 has the upper hand weight-wise, because it only weighs 150 grams, versus the 178.5 grams of the Touch Pro2. Another strong point for Nokia’s smartphone is its 5 megapixel camera, with autofocus and dual LED flash, that’s much better than the 3.2MP unit on the Touch Pro2.

The new HTC smartphone also wins the battery duel, since its Li-Ion unit “lives” for 390 minutes of WCDMA talk, or 510 minutes of GSM chatter, while the N97’s battery can only provide 360 minutes of WCDMA talk and 570 minutes, for GSM networks. It’s difficult to say which handset won the specs duel, since it’s most likely ending in a draw, but the price will be the deciding factor.

Nokia N97 retails for 640 EUR, while HTC Touch Pro2 only costs about 600. In conclusion, HTC’s device wins the fight, with 94 points out of 100, versus the N97, that only scored 86 points.
