HTC U11 is about 9 days away from debuting and thus, it’s time for a bigger than usual leak. This time it comes courtesy of @OnLeaks and 91Mobiles and it’s almost official. What we see here is a series of renders, showing the device in red and there’s even a 360 degree video of the handset after the break.
HTC U11 debuts globally on May 16th, with a squeezable frame, able to interpret touch, swipe and squeeze as input. @OnLeaks is known for making early CAD-based renders of unlaunched phones, so the source is rock solid. HTC U11 seems to come with a gently curved front panel, that should also have narrow bezels. It seems to lack an audio jack and interestingly the flagship will have a different thickness at the top and the bottom.
It’s going to measure 9.2 mm at the top and 8 mm at the bottom, while the width is 76 mm and the height 154 mm. Swiping on the edges is part of a brand new functionality called Edge Sense, which is in turn part of the Sense Touch UI. Everything is thought in order to make one hand input easier. HTC U11 is expected to bring a 5.5 inch Super LCD display, with Quad HD resolution, a Snapdragon 835 CPU and 4 or 6 GB of RAM.
64 or 128 GB of storage should be here, plus a 12 megapixel Ultrapixel back camera. The selfies are taken with a 16 MP shooter and these two cams may be borrowed from the HTC U Ultra. HTC BoomSound should be here, as well as Hi-Res Audio playback. Finally, HTC U11 has a 3000 mAh battery and supports Quick Charge 3.0. It’ll be water and dust resilient and run on Android Nougat of course.
