This year has been all about tech premieres in the world of smartphones… It all started with the first dual core phones, then 3D handsets and now HD screens will also get their battles. LG, Motorola and Samsung are rushing to get there, but it seems HTC is on the right track and has a product that’s ready, the HTC Vigor.

This 720p display smartphones just got leaked through an official press shot, that’s shown above. We’re expecting here an Android model, that will most likely support Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, with the OS running on a potent 1.5GHz dual core processor. There’s also a 4.3 inch S-LCD display in the mix with a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. Now I’m curious to see the comparison between a 720p Super AMOLED Plus display and a S-LCD one with the same res…

Vigor will also bring the Beats by Dre. audio customization to the market, just like the recently announced HTC Sensation XE model. Sources are saying that we’re to expect this phone to be sold under the branding HTC Thunderbolt 2, that wouldn’t surprise me at all. Will the HD display impress anyone nowadays?
