Eldar Murtazin, famous Russian blogger, analyst and rumor monger has recently confirmed that Huawei is making an unusually big device, that seems to be some sort of phablet. Huawei recently said that they’re making a Galaxy Note II rival, but with such a huge screen, it’s more of a Galaxy Tab 8.9 rival…

The 8.5 inch thing seems to be a bit far fetched, since this may rather be that 6.1 inch 1080p handset that was recently leaked under the name Huawei Ascend Mate. We’ll figure everything out next month at CES 2013, or if Huawei is too shy for American soil, maybe at MWC 2013. The image you see here is supposed to be a placeholder, so don’t put too much faith in it, OK? In other news, even Nokia is supposed to be preparing a phablet of sorts, codenamed Nokia Lumia Juggernaut Semaphore.

This beast will be running Windows Phone 8 and may change the game on the phablet market a bit. And then there’s the Galaxy Note III, also the subject of rumors… I guess we’re all supposed to be replacing smartphones with phablets next year, if the manufacturers will have their way.
