Boy, don’t we just love benchmarks? They reveal not yet launched smartphones and they generally tell us the whole story when it comes to the performance of a modern handset. Huawei Ascend D2 is one of the not yet launched models that have been revealed by such a benchmark result, GLBenchmark that is.
Huawei is a popular Chinese brand and they’re aiming at conquering the European and North American market through their devices. Sadly, the Ascend D Quad model didn’t exactly launch in all the territories as it should have, but maybe this newcomer will. Huawei Ascend D2 is supposed to be a quad core smartphone, with a Full HD screen, a trend that’s been adopted a lot among big handset makers lately. Huawei Ascend D2 is expected to be unveiled at MWC 2013 or CES 2013, so there’s not such a long time till we see it.
Also leaked under the codenamed Huawei D2-5000, this device will feature a 1.5 GHz quad core CPU according to the benchmark, as well as 2 GB of RAM, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and the display we mentioned. Strangely enough, the resolution is listed at 1800 x 1080, not the 1920 x 1080 that the HTC Droid DNA offers, for example. Hopefully the price will also be more affordable than the Droid DNA…
