Huawei Ascend P2 is another rumored model for MWC 2013 and before the unveiling we get to see it in a leaked press pic, shown below. This comes courtesy of the usual leakster @evleaks, who has also leaked Lumia phones before they were out. The P2 render here is only a teaser of things to come, with a ultrathin P2 S model also rumored.
The P2 is the follow-up to the 2012 Huawei Ascend P1, a handset we reviewed and we actually liked its design. What we didn’t like was the camera and the limited storage, plus its delay to reach the stores. Now the P2 comes with a lot of promise and a huge pixel density, since it has a 4.5 inch screen with a Full HD resolution. There’s also 2 GB of RAM on board, a 13 megapixel camera at the back and a 3000 mAh battery powering it up. The device ships with Jelly Bean, either in version 4.1 or 4.2 and it packs a 1.8 GHz quad core CPU.
Said CPU might be the HiSilicon Huawei-made chip that was adopted by other Ascend models, but in a new version. Our fingers are crossed for actually seeing a new and improved CPU, but don’t get your hopes up. Last year, the K3V2 CPU was below the Tegra 3 and Snapdragons in performance.
