Huawei has been on quite a roll this week, launching the Huawei P20 Lite covertly, also a new Nova Lite model and now see that the Huawei Enjoy 8 debuts in China, via China Telecom. Also, the Huawei Enjoy 8 Plus also saw the light of day on the same carrier. Let’s see what each of them brings.
Huawei Enjoy 8 surprises from the get go, because it relies on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 CPU, which you don’t see every day on a Huawei device. This is an entry level device, with Android 8.0 Oreo on board and EMUI 8.0 too. The octa core CPU in the mix is clocked at 1.4 GHz and we also get a 5.99 inch HD+ screen with IPS LCD panel. At the back we find a dual camera, with a 13 MP + 2 MP shooter, as well as an 8 MP cam upfront.
This is a dual SIM smartphone with two nano SIM card slots, Bluetooth and WiFi. 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage are here, but there’s also a version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. A microSD card slot and 3000 mAh battery is also here, while authentication happens via a fingerprint scanner placed at the back. The color choices here include black, indigo gold and silver.
The price of the device starts at $220.
Huawei Enjoy 8 Plus debuts with 4 cameras, two at the front and two at the back. There’s Android 8.0 Oreo here, a 5.93 inch Full HD+ screen with IPS LD panel and a Kirin 659 octa core chipset. The camera setup is similar to the Enjoy 8 at the back, 13 MP + 2 MP and upfront we find a 16 MP + 2 MP setup. LTE is here, dual SIM slots, Bluetooth WiFi and 4 GB of RAM. 64 GB or 128 GB of storage are here, plus a microSD card slot and a generous 4000 mAh battery.
