Even if at the moment, Huawei has in its portfolio just a single smartwatch product, it seems that the company wants to bring on the market such a product designed for kids, a pretty interesting move. The new portable device is called Huawei kidWatch K1 (K1-G01), and recently was certified by Bluetooth SIG.

From this certification we get to know that Huawei’s upcoming smartwatch comes with Bluetooth 4.0 connectivity, standard that will allow the connection between the phone and the watch. Also, it seems that this watch is a GSM device that will support a SIM.

By offering such a feature, parents will be able to track kids location. Unfortunately, we don’t get any pictures with the actual device, so we’ll have to wait and see when Huawei decides to launch this smartwatch on the market. I imagine a pretty regular product with a plastic colorful case that will look interesting.

As you can see in the device description, KidWatch K1 supports several features such as: shake to add contact, call contacts, motion information, event reminder, intelligent alarm, remote shutdown and even background monitoring.
