Huawei Nova is the Chinese firm’s latest product range, destined for the ladies and focused on selfie features and a solid midrange package. While it was unveiled a few days ago, we already scored one of the new models, the Huawei Nova Plus for an unboxing below. Priced at $479, the device should be in stores this month.
The box of the device is typical for a 2016 Huawei and so are the accessories. The headphones are the same ones as those seen with the P8, P9 and P9 Plus, plus we get an USB type C cable, charger and metal key. There should also be manuals, but our test unit has none. Huawei Nova Plus comes in silver, gray or gold and while its back looks like the Mate S, the front is similar to the Huawei G8.
It’s a relatively slim smartphone, at 7.3 mm and it’s made of metal. The product offers a solid 16 megapixel main camera with OIS and 4K video, the latter an extra even compared to the Huawei P9 and P9 Plus. Still, the standout features are those of the 8 MP, with Beauty Makeup and Beauty Skin features. We can apply virtual makeup, blush, lipstick and others using this feature, all of them female-friendly functions.
This model also has a generous battery and promises to deliver a solid midrange experience. We’ll be back with a full review soon.
