Like the actual iPhone generation called iPhone 5s comes in the package with an additional chip named M7, a processor that processes data from the smartphone’s sensor like the accelerometer, the compass or the gyroscope, is expected that iPhone 6 to bring such a co-processor too.
Among other functions of this chip there’s also the task to gather and centralize health-related information from third party apps an portable devices like a FitBit. This secondary processor is needed as Apple introduced a health-related app for iOS 8 this year at the WWDC developer conference.
As it seems, the successor of the M7 found on iPhone 5s got leaked today, revealing the fact that its name will be Phosphorus. This new chip will have the same responsibilities as the current chip found on the iPhone 5s, but it will also have some other tasks like keep health-related data about heart rate, amount of calories burned, cholesterol level and blood sugar.
