The first iPhone worm seems to only target jailbroken units and it’s pretty harmless, only changing the background of the handset to a photo of Rick Astley. This “Rick Roll” is reported in Australia for now and it seems to affect the users who haven’t changed their passwords after installing SSH.
This worm also starts looking for other phones to infect, after changing the background, so it’ll be easy to use by hackers who want to mess with the Apple phone even more. All you need to do is change the default password after installing SSH (from “alpine”) and you’ll avoid any issues.
Also, those who haven’t yet jailbroken their iPhones and iPods and installed SSH won’t be affected. According to the experts, at least 4 versions of the worm code exist till now, so expect this malware to develop.
