KDDI debuted today a new handset made by Kyocera and focused on pretty designs and extra resilience. Launched within the “Qua” branding this model comes with a 5 GB data traffic bonus from the carrier.

The device called Qua Phone KYV37 is available with a metal shell made of a special aluminum alloy, that’s very resilient. On board we find a 5 inch TFT LCD display with HD resolution and protecting it is a Dragontrail X glass, hard to crack or scratch. A “Smart Sonic Receiver” is used to make the entire screen vibrate at a certain frequency, in lieu of a speaker phone.

This smartphone is dustproof and water resilient within the IPX5/7 standards. Inside there’s a Snapdragon 410 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and at the back there’s a 13 megapixel camera, while upfront is a 2 MP shooter. VoLTe and WiMAX 2 support is also here and the model weighs 132 grams and measures 8.4 mm in thickness.  A February launch was promised.
