Carrier KDDI and Kyocera debuted today a new handset from the Torque series, the Torque G02 model. This device is the world’s first smartphone resilient to salty water and able to perform at sea and ocean.
It can take pictures and videos underwater, by activating a special capture mode triggered by a pressure sensor. The device’s features include a 13 megapixel back camera, a front 5 megapixel shooter, as well as a 4.7 inch 1280 x 720 pixel display with an IGZO LCD panel. There OS here is Android 5.1 and we’ve also got a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor on board, clocked at 1.4 GHz.
2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage are in the mix as well, plus LTE connectivity and VoLTE. Mobile Wallet functions and NFC are here, too, plus Qi wireless charging. The handset comes in a variety of colors, including green, red and black and it has a sturdy design.
