Kyocera covered an original niche today, by launching the Digno Rafre handset, a model that’s resilient to soap washing. We’ve seen a ton of waterproof handsets over the years, but this one is certainly unique.

It can stand the soap usage and thorough cleaning, plus it can be used in the bath with no problem. The promo video below shows some situations in which such a handset comes in handy, like in the kitchen, in the bathroom or in a messy kindergarten hall, when the kids are all muddy from playing outside. There’s a 1seg TV tuner on board, so you can watch soap operas in the hot tub.

Kyocera also included here a scratch healing finish and the touchscreen comes with the ability to work while wet. Digno Rafre has the following specs: a 5 inch 720p screen, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 13 megapixel back camera. There’s a 3000 mAh battery inside and Android 5.1 is the OS of choice. The product goes on sale next Friday priced at $465.
