Sprint and Virgin Mobile USA clients will soon be able to pick up a new waterproof smartphone, one from Kyocera. The handset is called Kyocera Hydro Vibe and it’s shown in the picture below. This model will be available from May 9th and this one is a 4G LTE compatible smartphone, in case you’re wondering.

Keep in mind that the May 9th date applies to Sprint, while Virgin will offer the product on the 27th. Sprint customers will pay zero dollars down and make 24 monthly payments of $9.59. Virgin Mobile USA customers will have to pay $149.99 upfront. This device comes with a thin bezel, the Smart Sonic Receive audio technology, for clear conversations in noisy environments and a 4.5 inch qHD display.

The screen is impact resistant and it’s a touchscreen obviously. We also have on board a 1.2 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, wireless charging, NFC, an 8 megapixel rear camera and a 2 megapixel front shooter. Finally, there’s a 2000 mAh battery inside and 8 GB of onboard storage. Hydro Vibe runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean.
