Kyocera has just announced its entry on the European market with a rugged handset, the Kyocera Torque, that’s pictured below. This model was already available in North America and now it’s coming to Germany and France for starters.

This model should be confused with the first gen Torque, that was made available on Sprint a few years ago. This new unit is actually similar in design to the Brigadier model and packs a 4.5 inch 720p display, sadly without sapphire display. Inside we find a Snapdragon 400 quad core CPU, clocked at 1.4 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and an 8 MP camera rests at the back, with LED flash in tow.

This product is waterproof, dust proof and even shock proof, with IPX5 and IPX8 certifications. It can withstand temperatures from minus 21 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius for 3 hours. Expect the handset to be showcased at MWC 2015. Torque also comes with the Smart Sonic Receiver technology, that uses sound and vibrations to transmit voice and allows users to hear better in noisy areas.

Its speakers can go past 100 decibels easily and we’ve also got Qi wireless charging on board.
